Pretty sure dd has a yeast infection at her nappy area

Obviously I will Take her to the gp on Monday

Does it need to be seen before then? She doesn't seem in pain but seems itchy as she's trying to scratch it at each change

Any home remedies I can try?

You can get treatment from pharmacist - tell them the symptoms and they can advise. Suggest you don't wait the weekend as may get a lot worse. Are you sure is yeast infection though - have you tried normal nappy rash treatment like metanium already?

Been using metanium all week with no improvement and it Has gradually grown in size
I thought a pharmacist wouldn't give me anything as she's not been seen by a gp

I got treatment for dc for yeast infection over the counter on advice from pharmacist which was effective - think it was canesten - was advised go to gp if didnt see a very quick improvement.

Both of my children suffer from yeast infections. When DD was about 18 months she got a hideous dose, nothing worked, even steroid creams prescribed by the gp. I was in a health food shop and mentioned it to the woman there and she recommended neem oil. It's an anti fungal oil and it is a miracle in a bottle. After 2 nappy changes DD was no longer crying and within 2 days the blistered, broken skin was completely healed. now I have a bottle on stand by at all times! It smells terrible but who cares if it works? It might also be worth checking if there are any particular triggers - DD can't eat mushrooms and DS flares up when teething. I also find a dose of a good probiotic helps. And my sister swears by bread soda in the bath. Hope you get it sorted for her soon.

Thanks ladies will take her to boots and see what they say then gp on Monday.
This is the first time she has had it and she's nearly 19 months, I don't think she's tried anything new recently but I'll keep an eye on that
We don't have a health food shop here but if need be I know where there is one I could get to if nothing else works
I don't think it's a bad infection (atm) it's just one patch about the size of her hand
and only seems to irritate her when her nappy is off. Some of the photos which came up on Google were awful!
