4yr old with infected front teeth

My 4 year old DD came home couple of months ago from nursery and said she fell down and bumped her chin on the floor. I thought it was one of those playful times so didn't pay particular attention. a few weeks later the front tooth started to discolour. DH took DD to see the dentist and the dentist said its an infection but she is weighing the option of removing the tooth or not however we need to wait a while to see if infection goes.
DD was given antibiotic which she completed the course but little changed. we went back to the dentist but she said she is still not sure if removing the tooth is the best option as DD is still young however if the infection is deep within, it may affect any tooth that may replace this discoloured one.
we have the next appointment in 3 weeks time but I don't feel comfortable for the tooth to be removed and also I don't feel comfortable for it to remain there either. I thought some antibiotic could solve the problem but no it didn't. The tooth now feels wobbly

I was wondering if anyone have faced similar problem and whether, removing the discoloured tooth will solve the problem. apologies but the dentist seems quite young and does not inspire confidence in me.

I don't think it's an infection. Same thing happened to ds. The discolour of his tooth ... which he called his pirate tooth ... was blood inside the tooth, caused by the fall he had and bang to his mouth. His tooth fell out at the normal time/age and his new adult tooth is beautiful/normal/white. Much to my immense relief!

Probably the nerve in the tooth was damaged by the fall and has died. The tooth may come out a bit earlier that usual (as you say, it's wobbly!), but as she is already 4 , it won't be long before an adult tooth comes in (and this may grow down earlier than the other tooth).

Discolouration of the tooth doesn't necessarily mean the tooth has died it just indicates the blood vessels inside the tooth have bled and stained the inside of the tooth (a bit like a bruise). However if she has pain and swelling in the gum above the tooth or a blister/gum boil like lesion here then yes the tooth has died and could cause trouble.

this introduces another dimension which i haven't thought of. yes there is a blister on top of the tooth which seems to be there disappears for a day and comes back. but no indication of pain or discomfort. will this affect the next tooth that grows in its place? should i allow the dentist to take it out or wait for it to fall off naturally?
