Worried about my 2yo (lip tie)

When ds2 was born he had tounge tie that was snipped at 10 days old, I never had a problem bf anyway but still had it done. I was given no advice for afterwards just told everything is fine now and thats that.
I noticed ds2 also had 'lip tie' there wasn't any problems with this but i mentioned it to my HV and was told theres no such thing! I'd googled so knew what it looked like, anyway fast forward to ds2 being 2 and I'm convinced either his tounge tie has re attached or his lip tie is affecting him.

He hates anything going near his mouth (apart from a bottle) medicine is impossible, brushing teeth is a battle everyday and I have to hold him down while I do it, hates teething rings etc but randomly chews toys sometimes, Ive never been able to put teething gel on his gums unless I have help holding him down while I open his mouth.

Eating, Hv told me he is a fussy eater and if he won't eat something keep trying, well I've tried this hundreds of times and nothing has improved in fact I think its made him worse for trying new foods.
He will only have mashed up food, or sandwich but he doesn't chew it as such he sucks it, Its the same with other foods like this. It is awful I'm on the verge of tears everyday as love making healthy teas for us all but 9 out of 10 times he will not eat anything and I have to make him something else.

His speech is delayed he says around 15-20 words atm and is not joining sentences yet, i can tell he's frustrated with not talking and feel useless he's taking everything in when I talk and read to him but just seems unable to repeat what I say.

He didn't get his 1st tooth til he was 13 months old and still doesn't have all his teeth, I'm not sure if teething is affecting anything as his back molars are coming through now and there causing him a lot of pain.

I want to call my hv and get it checked out but I'm worried they'll tell me theres no such thing again and when we saw the hv at his 2yr check she was awful and its put me off calling them.
Im going to call my gp tomorrow and see if they will offer any advice, I'm just so down with it all atm and feel like I can't enjoy normal things with him everything is a battle and I never remember it being this difficult with ds1.
Does anyone here know anything about lip tie and can offer any advice?

What do you mean by lip tie? My DD has an active frenulum. This means there is a little flap of vertical skin/muscle under the top lip, and for her this is much bigger and goes right down between her top teeth which have a large gap. Our dentist said it's not uncommon. They will wait until she gets her adult teeth, and if there is still a big gap, they can do a small cut to release it and then the teeth will move together as the other adult teeth come in. This sort of lip tie has never caused any problems with eating or speaking of teething, the only effect has been the gap between her 2 top front teeth which is cute (like Madonna!).

You need both the lip and the tongue assessed by an expert. Most mainstream HCPs are not experts. You need to find somebody who has taken a specialist interest in it.

DS1 went undiagnosed until he was about 6yo. He had all sorts of problems related to his ties. Mostly the tongue tie and the associated high palate to be fair, but lip ties can and do bring problems, despite what Isseyesque's dentist says.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but can anyone recommend an expert who would assess lip tie and a high palate in a toddler, ideally in Central London? Would it be a specialist paediatric dentist or a paediatrician? My 15 mo had a posterior tongue tie cut at 4 months but still has a high palate and lip tie (and a whole host of reflux/food allergy issues) so would like to seek some specialist advice. Many thanks in advance.
