Hyperactive? How to help

Someone I know who is an educationalist (not a teacher) has suggested that my son (age 7) is hyperactive or similar. His school has never suggested this and I am not sure that we are not talking about normal boyish behaviour or something greater than this. He is a high achiever at school but his concentration can be very poor. He has suggested cutting out squash etc. I am happy to do this sort of thing without a professional diagnosis etc but I cannot see how this small thing will do it. Is there somewhere I can look to see the type of thing I should be doing? My son is not a big junk eater though he has fruit ice lollies in evening (additive free) but I suspect if I am going to do this I ought to make sufficient changes to make a difference. Thanks very much.

If you feel that it would help diet could be worth looking into - try googling hyperactivity and diet and see if any of it is something you think is relevant as omega oils and intolerances/allergies could be applicable.
There is also lots that talk about sleeping and exercise too to help concentration, in addition to ruling out hearing and eye problems especially at a young age

I took mine to every sports class I could sign up too :).

They actually turned out to be talented at one of them and now trains most night, which takes the edge of the hyperactivity nicely. Concentration at school is far better too.

I've read a lot of athletes saying their parents took them along because they were hyperactive ....
