Eczema + dribble rash itch

Hello, my dd is 6.5 months and has mild eczema and is dribbling a lot due to probable teething. We are using good moisturising routine (hydromol at night, diprobase twice a day or more, oilatum in bath). Touch wood looking ok at the moment but she is troubled by her right elbow skin crease itching (although doesn't look particularly red) and at times the slight dribble rash under her neck (she wears a dribble bib to try and keep this area as dry as possible). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the itch at bay? Particularly at night. Someone mentioned calendula cream- any good? Thank you

Weleda does a calendula nappy cream - you can get it in Boots and Waitrose (often 1/3 off). I found it cleared up DD's eczema prone skin really quickly, and because it's a nappy cream it forms a barrier against further moisture too. It's got a texture similar to Sudocrem. Recommended! tube should last a while.

Should have said there are a few calendula products in the range - make sure it's the nappy cream. The others are good but not what you need.

After two years of eczema, something of a baby cream aficionado! Grin

Hi when my DD had eczema as a baby we went through the normal over - the counter products. We found creams like sudocream good but rather thick and 'industrial'. A friend of mine gave me a name of a company that made natural products for babies. Have a look at their website www.homescents.co.uk/ A bit of a pain as you can only order on-line, but they are really good, and we have carried on using other products too with her. Their balm is good and what we started with. Hope that helps!

Just to double check rootypig that I can put the nappy cream on her arm?

Thanks jkp67 will take a look (might find some nice things for myself too! ;-)

Oh yep it's suitable for use all over their body, I use it on DD's face if needed, arms, legs, wherever.
