Sudden change in 6 month old stools

Hi
my 6 month old son is exclusively breastfed and want to start introducing solids but for the past 3 days he has been have green stools, I don’t know if this is something to worry about. He generally seems happy in himself although he is teething so has some days of screaming with that but no other symptoms to suggest that there is anything wrong with him. Has anyone experienced this before with their child?

Has he got a temperature at all? If he has green stools and is feeling unwell, I'd just leave the introduction of solids until he's feeling much better, there's no law that says you must give solids on the day they turn 6 months. There's some good info on bfing and solids on kellymom.

Are you giving him anything for the pain?

no temersture, no symptoms or signs of illness generally a happy baby other then the teething pain from time to time, i give him a little bonjela or calpol if really bad but mostly distraction works well with him.

He is not in pain when going, has no vomiting, rashes nothing other than green stools

Could just be a mild tummy upset. I'd still not offer solids yet.

I always found dentinox gel just before a feed and ibruprofen about half an hour before the best combo. Ibruprofen is much better for dental pain than paracetamol Smile

You could always give him a clean, cool, wet flannel to chew on.
