Orthodontist has prescribed high fluouride toothpaste for daughter, who is under 16.OK she is 15, but 15 is not 16! Patient notes clearly state not for under 16. Dr and Pharmacist wholly unhelpful, tell me to go back to orthodontist. But surely, they are just going to say, we know what we're doing, it'll be fine? Is it just me or would you also prefer to get the lower dose, 10 - 16 yo version? Not very keen on fluoride anyway, but in medical circumstances can see it might be necessary.

my ds used that one for a short while and he was only 6 at the time. He now gets the 2800ppm stuff which is for over 10's (but he is still only 7!). I would think over 16's stuff would be fine for a 15 year old.

Age is only a guide, at 15-16 most girls are pretty much adult weight/size so adult dose is used, unless your daughter is very small, then not a concern. Also by 15-16 all her adult teeth are fully formed and apart from wisdom teeth will be fully erupted so not at risk from fluorosis. The toothpaste is used widely in dentistry as a preventative topical product.
