Sneaky Poo/ Impacted Bowel with added joy of overactive bladder muscle

My DD 5 has sneaky poo which was diagnosed almost a year ago. We were initially given lactolose but that did absolutely nothing so are now on magnesium hydroxide. We have had one month of hardly any accidents (she has issues with wees) but the rest of the time there has been at least 3/4 days a week with accidents. I know it is a slow fix as suspect she may have had the issue for about 2 years but I am at wits end. I just want the problem fixed and would love to talk to somebody who is/was in the same boat! I know it is not life threatening but is still upsetting. Thanks.

My DD, also 5, is very prone to constipation and was at one time soiling every day. It was a nightmare. She is MUCH better but still has regular wee accidents, probably one a day. I am very vigilant to make sure she drinks enough water, I get bored hearing myself telling her to drink some water but it seems to have truly helped. She has always been a healthy eater but I limit bread and pasta and make sure she has fibrous (spl?) fruit and veg which also seems to help. She is no longer on medication but you can see her tummy swell when she is getting bunged up and she still has natural 'clean outs' which us basically a normal poo followed by a bout of diarrhoea.

How is your daughters diet?

I am the fibre queen and we are currently having at least 8 servings of fruit/ vege a day plus porridge for breakfast and a lot of water a day. We only have brown bread and no fast food. I am constantly reminding her about water too. I don't actually remember her ever being constipated but she did have a urine infection once which I think may have had a knock on effect. We have also recently moved to another country and she has started school which the paediatrician thinks may have affected her. I am at a loss at what else I can do to help things along.

What medication was DD on? I also wonder if we're on the right medication or if that needs to be changed too. Also, is your DD still wet at night?

DD had lactulose and movicol but she wasn't on movicol for very long. Too much fibre doesn't help if they have an impacted bowel apparently, it is fibrous fruit and veg that you need. DD is dry at night and has been for years bar the odd accident if she is in a deep sleep.
