Waterproof pants for my bed wetting 5 yo

Hi we are taking dd (5) away for a few nights soon. She is still very very wet at night and I'm going to discuss this issue with my doc today. Anyway, in the mean time, would any of you have any recommendations for waterproof pants for over her pull up? She is sodden every morning, her bed too. I don't want her wetting the bed abroad if i can help it.

Many thanks.

I would certainly ask the dr if they think the infections and bed wetting are related.
Does she wee a lot during the day?

If she associates having a wee with pain, she could well be holding on and then she obviously can't hold it at night.

Just to be clear though, you're certainly not doing anything wrong, you cannot make dc be dry at night Smile

Sorry if all my questions have already been dealt with Smile

I agree, chidren will not be dry until they are ready

No harm in trying all options if it doesn't distress your child though, so you are doing the right thing

Both my kids were ok with getting dry, but my niece had ureteric reflux

Thankfully she grew out of it, which is common I think

It was diagnosed by scan

Actually i think she has a high pain threshold. She doesn't seem to notice a uti until it is severe, her temp is spiking and she shakes, hence the trips to a&e. So i don't think it is a fear of pain. Im going to stop drinks at 7 pm tonight and going to ply her with water now!! I feel it's time to be a bit more pro active.

Regarding the rash, a gentle wash with a flannel and as much time knicker-less as possible before getting dressed could really help.

Yes good idea wheteisegg. I'll leave her pants free for an hour before bed tonight and every night till she is rash free. the doc gave her nizoral to bathe in which has cleared up the rash everywhere else. Just her bum needs to breathe as my mum would say Smile

I keep thinking of the 'booster pads' you can get for washable nappies.
They might help.
