Hi
Please tell me I'm not alone.
My dd picked up the cold sore virus aged 3 possibly at preschool or from a kissy relation.

From age 3 - 9 she would have about 3 outbreaks a year. in the last year however she has had a sore every month normally in 2 different places. Saturday a new one in the corner of her mouth popped up.

I give her lysine, multi vit and mineral, zinc, extra vit c and still they come.

I've got my self totally in a state (I think I need to see a dr)

Please tell me my dd isn't the only one who gets the recurrent sores

You can buy antiviral cream for cold sores OTC, and it's pretty cheap. Apply frequently at the first signs.

Frequent cold sores can be a sign of being rundown/ill so a visit to the Dr is probably a good idea.

Also are you sure it's coldsore as if in the corners of the mouth it might be a similar looking sore- but a sign of digestive system problems like ceoliac or crohns or other conditions with an autoimmune component... Or a vitamin deficiency(which can be caused by many gut conditions). Especially if it's been going on for a while.

Yes its a cold sore. We use compeed plasters to hide them. We have used just about every type of cream available, and as I said a really good vitamin / mineral supplement. Nothing left to try. Just want to hear from anyone else in this situation

If Zovirax/aciclovir isn't working, it may be because she is licking it off before it penetrates... You can put a comped plaster on top of the antiviral cream and the plaster will keep the cream in place long enough to absorb properly.
