A title that people can read would help , so I am trying again as I really need a place to pace .

My 8 yr old D's has had a headache for over a week and my gp has suggested he has an eye test to rule that out before doing more tests .

So for background , our first son died after we were told he had a cold and all was OK so understandably I am a wee bit of an anxious worrying mess about anything medical with my children .

Anyway , saw Dr yesterday , saw optician today who said that his eye sight is worse since we had a routine test six months ago , also his colour recognition was hit and miss .
I rang gp and left a message for Dr to ring me when she is back in tomorrow to discuss . I then got a call later in the day to say that an appt has been made for 11 am tomorrow .

I am trying very very hard to keep things together and a place to pace about would be very handy .

If you have got this far then thank you
If you have any advice that would be fab
A hand would also be welcome .

Aaaarrrrggghhhhh !!

Thinking of you and extending another hand for you to hold. Really hope that all went well at the hospital and they have been able to reassure you x

HowLongTillBedtime · 24/06/2014 15:06

Thank you all , still not much further forward really , but they want us to go back tomorrow for an MRI scan .

I am just about keeping a lid on my madness but bloody hell this is a bit shit .

You're doing brilliantly to keep it under control. It is shit that you are having to go through all this worry (collective you, including DS and your whole family).

It is a good thing that they're taking it seriously, the quicker they can rule things out and get you some answers, the better.

Hope you have Wine or Brew to get you through tonight.

HowLongTillBedtime · 24/06/2014 20:46

Thank you Mrsk , I am being very grumpy , we have had a busy evening with cricket and cubs and tbh I just want to sit with a cold beer and have a wee cry .

I hate being so negative . I want to be the person that thinks all will be well , not the person that thinks bugger me this seems like its about to go horribly wrong .

I have kept away from Google though so for that I deserve some sort of medal .

You're doing well, hope all works out ok.

Stinkyfeet · 24/06/2014 20:59

Hope everything goes OK tomorrow.

On a practical note, it may be worth packing an overnight bag for you and ds - just in case they want to keep him in for further tests - at least you'd be prepared.

Let us know how you get on.

BellMcEnd · 25/06/2014 14:22

Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed

MyFairyKing · 25/06/2014 15:35

Thinking of you and hoping that today has gone well. You are doing a great job keeping off google - i'm dure it's hard but necessary for your sanity!

Have a Wine tonight x

TheHouseatWhoCorner · 25/06/2014 17:30

Hope today went OK. It must be hell for you, having to keep positive on the surface while trying to hide your worry.
Hope your DS's headaches aren't making him feel too awful and are soon explained and healed.

HowLongTillBedtime · 25/06/2014 20:21

We have the results !

All is clear . We still don't know what is causing the headache but we do know that it isn't anything scary , thank you so much for checking back Grin

I need wine and a good sleep .

RainbowInACloud · 25/06/2014 20:58

Wonderful news x

AWombWithoutARoof · 25/06/2014 21:20

Very pleased for you, OP.

My DP was referred for an MRI about 10 years ago, with aching pain in the middle and back of his head. He describes it as a burning sensation that travelled up his head. Maybe it's One Of Those Things.

Enjoy your sleep. Flowers

MrsKCastle · 25/06/2014 22:21
