GOR and Sikent Reflux HELP

Hi Im new to this but desperately need some advice and help. My beautiful boy has GOS and Silent Reflux. Its absolutely heartbreaking to watch him everyday and night vomit and scream in pain. He is on omeprazole and domperidone (previously tried gaviscon and ranitidine) but meds making no difference. Back at the hospital today but dreading it as I know they will just send us home.
Has anyone any ideas to help? Keeping him upright makes no difference, not moving him after a feed doesnt help nor does elevating his bed. We have tried everything. Very stressful and upsetting.
He is nearly 8 weeks old ??

Well that is brilliant. I am so pleased for you Grin Grin Grin

I guess when the dust has settled you can (with paeds advice) try some challenges to see what's causing the reaction but you don't need to worry about that for now.

a muted [hurray]. Don't want to tempt fate but [whispering] onwards and upwards.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you. When do you think they will want to challenge him? Have to say Im dreading that but I guess it will be good to see exactly what he is reacting to. X

I don't think it will be for a good while; and definitely not before one year of age. You can do dairy- and egg-free weaning, it'll be fine.

Is it still going well?

LB80 · 09/07/2014 22:26

Yes. He was bit upset earlier but that was trapped wind. The health visitor wants to talk to me about weaning next week and what we will do when the time comes to start. I just hope this good spell continues. Friends and family have even said how much of a difference they are seeing in him now which is lovely and Im feeling much better now x

Hurray. Re weaning, if you suspect allergies I would want to take it very slowly. Some HVs are not all that clued up. Food's fun until 1 and all that. Unless of course there are weight gain issues when it might be an idea to proceed to more calorie-dense stuff sooner.

Hi not been on for a while as had a good run! Bub had first screaming episode in weeks. It was horrendous and I cant think what Ive eaten to cause it. We were both in tears during and after :0(
He is 17 weeks now and had been sleeping through 10pm til 6-7am sometimes even 8am! However this week Ive been up during the night as he has been needing fed. Worried my milk quality isnt enough now, still DF,SF and EF. Dietician doesnt want me weaning until I see her on Wed but Im exhausted. Feeding practically every 2 hrs during the day!!
What do you think? Shall I look for a suitable cereal/rice and try him today? What did you all do? Xx
