DD has an awful cough. but it's only bad at night. It is making her quite tired though.

I know her personally is better off at school as she is distracted and happy and forgets all about it. However I'm more concerned about her passing it on to the other children.

but then if I keep her off its likely to be a good week or so realistically before she is totally over it? which is a drastic amount of time off for cough. She hates being at home If her sister isn't here and it will be a long drawn out clock watching time for all involved.

but I can't help feeling bad if we give it to everybody else. There is nobody with particular health/immunity problems that we know of though and the school are always banging on about attendance.

so I thought I'd ask you wise mumsnetters for your opinions Wink

How long has she had it?

I've got Ds home from nursery as he developed a really nasty cough during the night. He is absolutely fine this morning though Hmm

I will monitor him and if he is ok he will to back tomorrow. However I wanted to keep an eye on him for 24 hours to see if it developes into something else

If I hadn't gone to school when I had a cough I'd never have been there in winter. I had to hide right at the back of our English mock lest I put every one off.

Could she have hayfever giving her an asthma type cough.

Trying some children's hayfever medicine might help. Although DD2 says it tastes horrid.

As long as she doesn't have a fever id be inclined to send her...

fab thanks. I was worried I would get flamed for sending her in and passing it on! I know she will be fine in the morning. But will be bad again in the night. She loves school and I would much prefer she went. plus she loves her 100% attendance awards cause she is never usually off Smile
