Chickenpox again, maybe?

Anyone have any experience of your children having chickenpox's twice, my youngest has a few possible spots- too early to tell but he has already had them, I know you can in theory have them twice but I am just a bit worried because last time he had them badly and ended up in hospital (only for a day but still not nice) if he had them badly last time are they likely to be bad again if he has got them a second time? Thanks in advance for any advice

I don't know about repeat attacks of chicken pox, but my daughter had shingles at 7. The gp told me that the CP virus lives, hopefully dormant, in the spinal cord but can be re activated coming out as shingles.

Is Shingles very different to chicken poxs- I know it is meant to have quite a distinct pattern isn't it? I think he is okay, he def has 5 spots but they don't seem to be developing into poxs so hopefully just a viral thing

Shingles usually follow a nerve, so will tend to be quite a localised rash rather than all over the body. It is very painful rather than itchy.
If children have chicken pox very young (under a year) they are more likely to get it a second time. I would have thought if had it badly last time it would be less likely to be CP this time.

That's what I am hoping, he was 2 when he had them last time so not too young. Just spoke to his nursery and there is a virus going around that causes them to come out in spots so fairly sure it is just that
