Can any doctors shed some light?

I've had a few threads on here but they seem to have vanished
I took my son to a&e last week after noticing some indents in his skull, he also has had a bump on his head which has lasted 7 weeks ( saw the doctor about that initially who wasn't concerned however doc has since been off sick hence the hospital visit )
My son had a subdural haemorrage as a baby and I panicked so off we went.
Now I've since been back to the doctor who has done a neurology referal for me however the paed at the hospital has booked some bloods for next week and when I asked her what she throught could be causing it she mentioned possibly doing some sort of abdominal scan but said " she was probably thinking too far out the box " but will see me in about a months time when bloods are back etc.
Im racking my brain / googling like crazy and can find no link to why a lump on the skull / indents would relate to a stomach issue.
Can anyone point me in the right direction without having to wait a month to see her / if it's even her I end up seeing for the blood results?

Gosh, all that sounds really worrying, sorry you are having to go through this.

However, nobody on here will be able to tell you what it is with the information you've got just now. The tests will be crucial to try and figure out what's going on.
It is very likely that nobody is holding any information back from you, but that they genuinely don't know what your DS has got. Trying to reach a diagnosis is often real detective work where you follow one 'lead' to another - more so when it's something unusual.

I can link you to a page with differential diagnoses if you want?? But I don't want to add to your worry tbh and just searching google will not tell you what your DS has.

Also, IME drs are very likely to get in touch with you if they get results back that need action - you may not wait a month. No news is often good news.

Thanks for the reply
Just very confused as my gp doesn't think I need the blood tests, he thinks the neurosurgeons are in the best position to decide what's done if anything as could all be part and parcel of the surgery he had
Just very confused as to why an abdominal scan was mentioned as I just can't see the link!
But then I'm not a doctor am I :(

I am no expert (humble GP), but I'd assume they are looking to see if his internal organs are alright as some tissue problem can affect different 'systems' IYSWIM.
The fact that he had surgery so young obviously muddies the water too.

It sounds like they are investigating him v thoroughly - maybe you can take some solace from that?

Thankyou.
I understand all things can be linked and I think she wasn't convinced the slight bump that we originally thought caused the lump was that after all and could be a problem cause by something else altogether.
Just annoying that my gp doesn't think he needs th blood tests however whilst I feel awful subjecting a 3 1/2 year old to them without good reason, I'd hate to miss something vital or appear not to be doing as they've told me to do!
