Persistent problem with food got me so worried

Okay nobody else is worried but my DD keeps going off her food.
Has been great at finishing meals up until she got a mild respiratory infection at the beginning of April. Wouldn't eat a bite for a couple of weeks but drinking plenty (still, hardly any milk). She went back to eating but rarely a full meal. She's been teething badly for a few days now and barely any food has past her lips. The occasional nibble of toast.
I try her with all kinds but she's even went off thing she'd normally love.
So is this common?

How old is she? I think it is normal. As long as she is still gaining weight, and seems otherwise well I wouldn't worry. I know that is easier said than done though!

Have you tried giving her calpol or similar first, waiting an hour, and then offering food? My DS was like this and it turned out he had a sore throat from post nasal drip and swallowing hurt too much so he just stopped eating.

Have her ears been checked recently? If infected they can make swallowing painful. My DS had this once too, showed no other symptoms of ear infection!

Sorry meant to say, She's 13 months. She doesn't seem weak or anything so she must be getting just enough from Morning and evening milk and fresh fruit juice and water throughout the day. Managed to get some banana, blueberry & flax seed smoothie down her last night. Half a slice of toast this morning. Yes she's getting calpol.
I'm thinking her appetite will come back slowly since she's been having a little more. Maybe should take her to docs to make sure she's not got ear infection.

I would cut out the juice completely, and offer food before liquids and see if that helps. When I saw the nutritionist for DS (he has anaemia) that was the first thing she put forward to up his solids intake and it helped a lot.

Also, be sure that 2-3 hours pass between each offering of food, even if she eats nothing. The more they graze, the less they take in over a whole day. Sounds counter-intuitive but it works.

Put food in front of her, if she doesn't eat it within 15-30 minutes, take it away and offer water. Then wait two hours from the time you took the food away (do not give in to whining! she can survive two hours) and try again. Repeat until she's hungry enough to eat properly.

If that doesn't work, GP and referral to nutritionist or feeding nurse.

definitely get her ears checked btw. Honestly they can show no symptoms at all for ear infection, it's terrifying. my DS had one probably for weeks after a cold... no idea... didn't give me a single sign except slight temperature for a day or two.

That is extremely helpful. Thank you. Will give it a go in the morning.

I and everyone around put it down to teething badly. Can see the white coming through top and bottom gums and she's never had so many all at once. Hopefully it is just that but i will have her checked.

Has only had a high temp once through the night a few nights ago and was back to normal by morning.
