Children's opticians in North London?

I think my DD (3.5) may have a lazy eye. This is probably more a matter for Moorfields, but we need a referral in order to be seen and, given that both me and DH (and our respective sets of parents) all have glasses, chances are she'll need an optician at some point anyway.

Any good ones in North London? I'm in N2, but will go further afield for a really good one.

Thank you Smile

I got dd referred via the health visitor. You could probably refer via a GP as well. Could you not go through your own optician if you are happy with them?

My optician is in Central London, which seems like an awful faff for a 3 year old. I know GP can also refer, but it's a nightmare trying to get an appointment.

How about the City University children's clinic? Phone them up and see if you can self refer, I think you probably can.

It is a teaching clinic, so your dd will be seen by students but all their work will be directly supervised by a qualified optometrist. It's near Moorfields, so don't know if that's too far for you.

thanks for that! will give them a call.

Is Radlett in Hertfordshire too far? They diagnosed my super rare eye condition as a child. I'm 26 now and been going for 20 years.

Radlett is a bit too far, but thanks for the suggestion.
