Basically over last 3 weeks my ds has intermittent severe left side tummy pain and high temp. Admitted to hospital on Wednesday as was passing out with pain and vomiting. 4th lot of urine samples taken and white blood cells, protein and blood in sample and looked murky. Put on another round of antibiotics but the results came back from lab that nothing was grown. beginning to be really concerned as to what is causing this. He hasn't any pain at the moment but slight fever still but much improved. Do children get kidney stones? He has been told he will be sent appointment for scan. Anyone have any similar experience.

Well, if nothing has been cultured for all this time then it probably isn't a uti. Hasn't he had a normal abdominal ultrasound and X-ray yet? Could be lots of things causing those symptoms, and other illnesses can cause murky wee without it being a uti. My sister's 4 yr old had v murky wee with a stomach bug type virus- 3 samples were tested, all negative. He got over the illness fine, but it only lasted a week, not 3, so I think he should be having other investigations

Thanks for replying inspace. We were told that we would be sent an appointment for an ultra sound to be done as an outpatient so just waiting to hear. He has not complained of any pain since Wednesday but this seems to be the pattern and then it will suddenly flair up again and with it his temp goes up. On his 3 day of antibiotics. Just very nervous about results of ultra sound.

Try not to worry too much, it's most likely nothing much at all, or else something easily treatable.
