Hi,

DD has mollescum, one of which was on her face. It was scratched and then bled and now looks like the spot in the photo (it is the biggest red spot to the left of her ear, in the middle of the photo - the others are chicken pox scabs).

DS also had it (over 100+ on his torso and face) but they didn't leave any scars except for tiny tiny skin coloured dimples which are practically invisible.

I have tried tea tree cream on it but hasn't made any difference. The nurse has given us some fucidin.

What do you think? There is no scab on it, it is a flat red mark that spreads out a bit. It has been like that for about 8-10 weeks now :( I know in the grand scheme of things it isn't anything serious but if there is something I could be doing to help it go away I would like to do it.

Thanks
TOOIK

Thanks dogonabeanbag (fab name!) she is 22 months old now.

The mollescum she has had for ages, DS was just getting rid of his when she was born and despite best intentions there was cross contamination somewhere!

If it was a chicken pox scar I wouldn't be so concerned but I don't trust mollescum scars!

Just to let you know I went back to the GP who said he was 'baffled'. Fucidin didn't touch it so he has now prescribed a 1% steroid cream and some homeopathic tablets. It isn't getting better. It's quite odd, some days it is barely visible then other days it flares up very red and angry looking (makes me wonder if it is a spider nevi caused by the infected spot?!)
