I have been successful once after much persuasion only to have crying afterwards and being told I am never going to do that again.

It for conjunctivitises.

Put the drops in the inner corner of closed eyes and blink a few times afterward. Doing it this way is better than putting drops directly into the eyes if the child is reluctant to have them. Also warm camomile tea bags compress are good for conjunctivitis.

I'm normally one for carefully explaining how important something is and then hoping DS will cooperate. But if you're getting desperate this might be the time for bribery.

Its far easier to do it with closed eyes. Blob some into the inner corner, then when he opens his eyes it will run in. Even if it doesn't, a very small dose will stay on the eyelid and gradually absorb!

I would suggest doing it from behind, maybe with him sat down in front of you, looking up. Hopefully some will go in before he blinks.

What pp said re doing it on to closed eyes, in the corner by their nose. They can wait till they're ready to open they're eyes then.
I also find it easier if you wedge their head In between your thighs, in a nice gentle way obviously, but it helps hold their head in place.
Giving them a sweet or chocolate after helps lots too.

Thanks, I will try the 'eyes closed' technique.
