Do babies want their dummy more when teething?

Just that question really. 6 month old DD is clearly unsettled at the mo, GP thinks it's just teething. DD has always liked the dummy but I've tried to keep it to a minimum, taking it out a few mins after falling asleep etc

However I'm finding she's sucking on it for dear life now and I can't seem to get her to part with it without her going mad!!

Teething DD, who has never bothered with a dummy (11m) pinched my friend's baby's dummy out of her mouth the other day and has been chewing on one, on and off, ever since :)

It was funny, especially when I found the dummy in her toy box, once my friend and her baby had gone home and I had to phone and 'fess up!

My daughter won't take a dummy, so instead insists on breastfeeding tons instead. She's a toddler, not a baby, I wish she would just take a dummy instead. But it's all she wants to do when teething, apparently sucking helps.

Thanks both. It makes sense now as I've never heard her suck so much on the damn thing! Whatever helps her through it though. Feel like she's been teething forever and I still can't see anything ready to pop through!
