DS had one of these on his upper chest, he's now just about 3 and it's fading and shrinking slowly.

DD (3 months) has a larger one (10 pence sized) near her belly button, a small one on her upper chest and 2 tiny ones; one on her chest and one on her back. I hate the large one as I often catch it with a nail during nappy changes if she moves/writhes suddenly; it's never bled but is obviously sore when this happens.

I believe that if there are 3 or more then medics like to do an MRI to check for internal ones. The reason I'm posting is that I always thought she had the 3 on her front. Doctors have asked how many she has and I've said 3. Should I bother the gp now that I've found the 4th?

Yes you should go to the GP. There is always a chance they might be patronising, but balls to them!
Of course there is also the chance they will be very helpfull and you'll be glad you went!
Just go! Smile

ds has just one, all drs have been very reassuring and listened to my concerns, i am not sure on advice of multiples but think these are usually fine but no one minds you checking things out if you are worried especially with babies

PickledMoomin · 22/01/2014 22:06

I was born with one about the size of a 10p between my eyebrows. It totally vanished by the time I was five.

PickledMoomin · 22/01/2014 22:08

Posted too soon. Mine was monitored, despite it being the only one.

I would ask for monitoring, but I'm sure they will disappear just like mine did.

PseudoBadger · 22/01/2014 23:14

Thank you I'll definitely request monitoring of the large one, and mention the others again.

my dd has a similar sized one on her upper arm. She's now nearly 5. She has 3 in total, one on her neck and one on her side.

She's now nearly 5 and though they've faded they are still there. Luckily we've never caught her big one for it to get sore. One doctor mentioned scanning when she was younger but we never did it.
