Hiya everyone,

I was just giving my little boy (4 months old) a bath and noticed that he seems to have a line which starts at the base to the tip of his penis which looks like a scar... The skin appears darker like a scar would?! He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort when I touched it or when I'm changing his nappy.

I'm a first time mum so I'm not sure if this is how his penis is supposed to look?? I can't seem to find anything on the internet to help me out.

Hope someone can help me!

It's normal. Is it on the underside?

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 12/01/2014 21:06

Hi Sam, totally normal. When our DDs first saw the line, they commented it must be where God zipped up their baby brother!!

Enjoy your little one

It's called the 'penile raphe'. It's just where the body joins while in utero. (Gotta love google)

nevergoogle · 12/01/2014 21:10

Totally, totally normal!

My ex apparently worried until his late teens that he was disfigured due to this. He was so relieved to discover it is normal.
