Help - is she breathing too fast???

Dd is 3.5, fell asleep an hour ago, snoring because she has a slight blocked nose. But it seems she's breathing too quickly. I've timed it twice over a minute and each time it's about 28/29 breaths per minute. It sounds too quick ;snoring) and her chest seems to rise quickly after each breath quickly comes another. An I noticing it because of the snoring??

Is she wheezing? Sucking in her chest or has a blue tinge?

How's her temp?

www.health.ny.gov/professionals/ems/pdf/assmttools.pdf

According to this it's normal range :)

I get very paranoid about breathing too. I can't link cos I'm on my phone but you can Google for normal/worrying breathing rates. It doesn't actually sound too fast to me - I know in a 2yo anything over 40 is considered a bit fast

CrazyHneedsSleep · 11/01/2014 19:56

28/29 BPM is perfectly normal

I just woke her up deliberately :-/ and got her to walk along the landing and back (paranoid) which she was in a sleepy daze but didn't hear any wheeze. Put her back to bed and it's started again so I think it's the blocked nose and lying flat making it seem like that. I hope. No temperature. You can tell me to shut up.

Maybe just prop her up with pillows.

Tea if you are still worried then the best way to hear a wheeze is to place your ear on her back and listen if their is a wheeze you will hear it Smile
