Is this a normal amount of drool?

DS is 2.6 and has been drooling for a year. He's always drooled when teething and I'm not sure if his final molars have come in. As far as I can count - risking fingers and getting him to hold still - he's got 20 teeth. Surely he isn't still teething. Could there be any other reason for excessive drool? He soaks his shirts and refuses to wear a bib. You can often see it dripping down his chin.

Does he snore at night? He could have enlarged tonsils or adenoids.

DD2 used to dribble excessively. She also had a severe speech delay - I don't know if that's relevant to you? Until she was about 7 every winter she had a red raw chin.

He doesn't snore unless he has a cold and his language is pretty good.

DSS1 was an incredibly drooly child. He did grow out of it around his 7th Birthday but used to get red marks from wet fabric rubbing his skin.

Yes. DS 2 needed a bib at that age. It stopped eventually. Never figured out a reason why. No speech delay.

Post seems to have disappeared.

Looking at dr google I wonder if the drool could be related to swallowing. DS is a terrible eater (getting better) but he wasn't weaned until he was 18 mo. He still prefers drinking to eating unless it's chips. Will try to get a gp appt in the new year.
