Seeing GP tomorrow with wheezy/asthmatic 23mth old - what to ask please?

I'm taking my 23mth old to see our gp tomorrow and jus wanted some pointing in the right direction in case I miss anything please.

Ds has always been prone to chestiness & wheezing, any cold goes straight to his chest and he invariably ends up on ab's. He has a blue inhaler for when he's bad.

I'd booked tomorrows appointment as a routine follow up check, but he's been coughing and wheezing for about 3 weeks now although his chest was clear two weeks ago. More alarming now is the horrendous night-time snorting, coughing, snoring and on some occasions seeming to stop breathing for 20 seconds before a spluttering deep breath. He likes to sleep on his tummy with no pillow, so I can't prop him up. He just point blank refuses. His sleep is often bad but at the moment it's appalling. I was up for 3 hours last night with him as his wheezing was so bad. I'm giving the inhaler regularly, but it's making little difference.

My dh has nasal and sinus problems: polyps, a deviated septum that was corrected with surgery and very small sinus cavities. The surgeon actually knocked his sinus cavities in his forehead into one larger cavity in the last op. He had three major op's in four years and is now on daily steroids to prevent the polyps. At night ds sounds like dh at his very worst.

So, after that huge post (sorry!) does anybody have any advice as to what I should be asking the doctor? I'm worried I'm that despite being well able to stick up for myself (and my dc's) that they're going to attempt to fob me off with virus diagnosis. He may well have a virus, but do you think the symptoms could show another underlying cause?
Or am I being a bit pfb (precious fourth born in this case!)?

Can you record him tonight to play to the GP?

Can you prop his bed up rather than trying to prop him up? Might put him at a better angle?

For the asthma symptoms I would ask about trying a preventer inhaler daily. But maybe ask for a referal to ENT if you think it may be an underlying problem in that sense?

I wonder if his tonsils and adenoids are large and needs an ENT referral. The holding breath is called sleep apnoea.
