Can children get hemorrhoids? Bit freaked out.

DS is 4. I was just tucking him into bed when he said to me "There's something on my bottom mum"

I got the wipes fully expecting him not have cleaned properly after using the toilet. But it wasn't. There is something there, it's just over an inch in length. It is right next to his anus and feels very solid. It's not sore looking or red at all. He said it doesn't hurt.

Could this be a hemorrhoid? Do children get them? I wondering this as he woke up in the night with a sickness bug so he's possibly caused it through the vomiting which was pretty violent at times!

I'm really worried though. Could it be a prolapse or something? Would that hurt?

I'm going to take him to the walk in clinic in the morning but for now someone talk me down from a mild panic!

I'm not sure, didn't want to leave it unanswered though.
Maybe ring NHS 24 and ask them? If it's skin coloured could it be a skin tag? I used to care or a woman who we all thought had a painless heemeroid only to find it was a skin tag?

I would very much doubt it's a prolapse too, he would be in a great deal of pain, which he isn't.
If it doesn't hurt it's unlikely to be anything that requires immediate panic.
I'd still suggest getting it checked out though.

Thanks drink. There's no one I can call tonight so I needed to get my panic out!

He's sound asleep already and had really perked up after this tummy bug so clearly not in pain at the moment.

I've done some googling not pleasant and it sounds like a thrombosed external hemorrhoid given the position etc.

Can children have piles? My DS 5 now is having three to four swellings on anus after every bowel movement, they disappear after some time. No pain. This is happening from past two months. Anyone in similar situation?
