chicken pox advice please

I was just wondering if anyone with any medical knowledge can help me.
Ds1 (6) has chicken pox. He started with flue like aches and pains plus a high temp, then the rash appeared before my eyes. That was over a week ago and is currently a scabby mess, but none the worse for it. Ds2 (6 months) has has a slight temp and had a few spots on his lower back upper thigh and bottom. They look a bit chicken pox-ish but haven't spread further and could just be nappy rash. DD (10) has never had the pox and shows no sign of illness now. My question is, are DD and DS2 going to inevitably get it, or could Ds2 have had a mild case, and DD have some kind of natural resistance? hopeful

Almost certain DD2 has a mild case and other child had it already and was mild enough to be undiagnosed.

Oooh we're just recovering from the pox. Apparently incubation can be a week and they are contagious until the spots are scabbed. So I'd reckon your DS2 has mild case which makes sense if he's breast fed, and that DD will get it perhaps end of this week.
By the way my chemist gave us baby piriton which really seemed to ease itches. Good luck.

incubation period is up to 21 days. my two started with it 13 days apart IRRC.

Thanks for your replies. DD has a staring role in a pantomime and really doesn't want to miss it, so I hope she is lucky. I am keeping my fingers crossed that DS2 has had a mild case and has been afforded some protection through breastfeeding.

Incubation period is up to 21 days, dd came down with it 15
Or 16 days after ds. That said your dd has done well to get to 10 without it so she may have had it and you not realised or she has natural resistance. Even if she does get it and its horrible crappy timing just remind yourself rather that than her catch it as an adult. Crap though I know.

Your littlest may have a mild case but just be aware that if they have it under 1 and especially if only a mild dose then there's a good chance they'll catch it again when older, sorry!
