What's best for baby eczema?

Dd is 10mo - suffered v mildy on and off with patchy eczema. Just recently it's really flared up - knees, arms, face, neck.
Tried dermol bath emollient and lotion, tried Vaseline, tried calendula oil.
I'm not sure it's bad enough to see gp just yet - wondered if anyone can recommend anything. Can always ask for prescription.
Do I need to stop bathing her every night?

Do you have steroid creams? Any inflamed red patches need steroids which dampen it down. You can use emollients as well just not at the same time (if that makes sense, leave a half hour gap at least).

My DS started on steroid treatment at 5 months old after our GP refused to treat him saying just to moisturise he'd grow out of it. We saw a dermatologist who was horrified and put together a treatment regime of steroids, emollient creams and bath creams and we've never looked back. I would never let a GP treat my DS's eczema as they just don't know enough about it.

What do you bath with? We use oilatum bath and shampoo and wash with aqueous. We have diprobase for moisturising and three steroid creams which we don't always use, only on flare ups. The GP also said he was too young for steroids which is not true.

We bath DS most nights to be honest, some people on here say not to bathe too much. You can give Piriton at night for itching too.

Just to add, he is 21 months now and his skin is beautiful. Originally he had eczema on 98% of him.

I use dermol bath emollient
My gp also reluctant to give anything else as she is "young and still bf" Hmm
She only has one red patch on arm which she doesn't seem bothered by
The rest of it is just crepey

Aveeno is good, works really well on a patch on DD's face (she's 19months). There is one that says its suitable for people prone to eczema.

My LO is 7 months old. Saw GP when he was 5months. Was given a mild steroid cream and epiderm. Used steroid for 5days, which did clear it a bit, but as soon as I stopped using it, it flared up again. Back to different GP, gave LO stronger steroid, epiderm. Oilatum for bath. Back again 3 weeks later, and have now been referred to a dermatologist. LO skin is starting to clear now, but I'm glad I kept taking him back to GP. If ur not happy, get a second opinion.

Different gps give v different treatment regimes. My 14 week old has been using v mild steroid cream and gadzillions of diprobase for weeks now. Has made a big difference to what was weepy crusted skin, Moisturizing all the time really really helps.

DD is on Dermol everyday and Oilatum bath, and then has steroids for flare ups. We used Sun Sense suncream.

What shampoo do people use?

My GP gave me hydromol which is greasy bit good, I would ask to give that a shot. I've been referred to a dermatologist this week but I want them to explore CMPI as she's got reflux etc and I think there's something underlying..

Thank you all - I put my prescription request in today Grin
