My dd is only 9 months and I'm so paranoid she has worms. I've not seen anything to make me think this but she was wriggling the other day and a friend of mine said hers used to do that when they had worms. Being the paranoid mother that I am, I am now convinced she has worms. Her older sister dd1 is 2 and goes to nursery and I know it can be a big issue in nurseries. I've looked at both their stools and bottoms and haven't noticed anything. However, I did she something thin and white in dd2 nappy in her stools, it was moving though. Dd2 has been very clingy and crying constantly today and just wants to sleep. She is not hungry and just wants breast. Should I go to the doctors. Dh thinks I'm mental and she is absolutely fine, no need to go to the doctors. I just can't relax until I know for sure. But these doctors here always look at u with amazement when u self diagnose your child. What do I do?

For worms, see the the pharmacist has the powder you can give to under 2yo. Ours doesn't stock it, so I had to go to the GP for a prescription. I told them I'd seen a worm and there was no problems.

But ime worms come out at night. Yes, they do a distinctive wiggle when the worms are moving, but only in the evenings, so if it was a wiggle during the day, the chances are that isn't it.
