Lump / ulcer on tongue, anything to worry about?

Hi, my DS is 17 months old and yesterday I noticed a raised, sort of lumpy area on the side of his tongue. It seems paler than the rest of his tongue, but I wouldn't say it was white, and it's about the size of a 1p coin. It's hard to get a proper look though!

He doesn't seem overly bothered by it, though his appetite has been a bit reduced for a few days now. I think his back teeth might be coming through, so maybe it's related to that?

I was just wondering if it's anything I should be worried about? Have tried googling but only found thrush and hand, foot and mouth and I don't think it's either of them. I feel like we've never been away from the doctors the last few weeks ( allergy testing, dietitians, 2 chest infections ) so I don't want to go again if it's nothing serious! Anyone else had something similar?

DD (13 months) has an ulcer/blister on the tip of her tongue. Also runny nose, cough and red spots/rash on hands and around legs and nappy area. Taking her to the doctors later but guessing it is H, F & M :-(

Aw your poor DD, that sounds grim! DS doesn't have any other symptoms, just this thing on his tongue - had a bit of a better look before, it's like a beigey colour, raised area. My dad said it looks like a cold sore, so maybe could be herpes?
