Ds2 is 3months.
He has really bad eczema which keeps flaring up.
Right now its red and angry like the childs cheeks on this link

Ive been to gp twice.
Once I was given steroid cream which helps slightly if used regularly which I was told not to use for longer than a week.
Next he was just given a mosituriser which is not as good as aveeno.
Im fairly new to all this as ds1 never had anything like this.
Can someone help please

Maybe a bit woo but after 10 years, multiple hospital stays when we couldn't control it at home(despite daily creams, reducing baths, no fabric softener etc etc) and bleached skin from a decade of (necessary) steroids I had to look elsewhere. He missed 35 school days in a year and pain was constant. so. we visited a paediatric acupuncturist

DS is not healed but the flare ups are few and manageable and he is so much more comfortable amd because he is not constantly fighting a skin infection i can better tell if a food, detergent etc is aggravating him. I wish I had done it years ago.

Best advice I got when he was a baby was to change clothes, PJs and bed sheets daily. It's a pain but even now it makes all the difference. Eczema seems worse in spring and autumn. I also vacuum the mattress about once every 6-8 weeks.

I've had good results from acupuncture for acne, so if things were getting tricky I'd possibly try that too, FWIW.

I came back to this thread as I forgot to mention avoiding perfumes and dyes in toiletries - Johnson's products are banned from this house, and we get on really well with Asda Little Angels Shampoo and also bath/ shower gel (the ones marked for dry and sensitive skin). They also have the perk of being vastly cheaper than the brands!

Thanks for that.

They prescribed another cream, chlorophenimine and bath stuff.
Put tge cream on last night. Atm it's dark in here so cant see.
She recommended nutrimigen but didn't say which 1!
When I got to pharmacy they asked and I was like errrm she just said nutrimigen.
Also the chlorophenimine isnt recommended for under2! So will have to ring them again!

can you re post this thread in the allergies section?
many of us have lots of info in this area.

eczema before 3 months is one of the indicators for food and enviro allergies btw.
