My DD ( age 4) had her tonsils/adenoids out 3 weeks ago.
She had 2 weeks off school ( having only just started school 2 weeks before).
Last week she was shattered everyday. Towards the end of the week she started making a fuss about going into school. There doesn't appear to be any problem at school.
We've had a quiet weekend, didn't really go out and just chilled. She was exhausted and slept well. But this morning she is still shattered and got upset about going to school, saying she's too tired.

She doesn't seem to be getting stronger/fitter. Surgeon said once recovered she'd have more energy, but she still seems to be only 60-70% of my usual happy girl.

Does anyone have any advice on supplements etc or things I should do to help her recover and get her energy back.
I'm also worried she'll catch a bug b'coz she's run down and get ill when she's only just getting better.
She's usually a tough wee thing. ??

In reception they do find it very very tiring-and that's without an operation. My dd1 was going to bed by 4:30pm and needing to be woken at 8:30am by this point of her first term-and she was one fo the oldest.

I suspect it's just that school is tiring. However she may have picked up a mild bug that is adding to it. Ds was hospitalised with a sickness bug 3 days after he'd had his first grommets. Just an unfortunate coincidence he picked it up then.

However if you're worried then go and talk to your GP or consultant if that's more appropriate.

I found they picked up in the second half of term.

Agree that reception is tiring. Plus, general anaesthetic can continue to cause effects for a month after the op.
