My LO woke last night at 12.30am and could not be consoled at all she is just over ten months old.
We eventually had to call out of hours doctor who checked her over and put it down to teething - she has a few teeth already so this didn't cross my mind that she would be affected in this way - is this normal that some teeth are ok and others are a nightmare???? We had to take it in turns to nurse her as she would not go back done to sleep in her cot,
Any advice on how best yo deal with this should it happen again would be greatly appreciated cheers

If its teething, could you try ibruprofen? Its much better than paracetamol with dental pain.

Did she have a temperature? Did you try giving her milk, either a bf or formula? Was she showing signs of dental pain like choking on things, sticking her fingers in her mouth or rubbing her ears? Did the doctor check her ears and throat and did he feel the teeth coming through?

I found a teething gel like Dentinox worked well, especially before a feed or solids helped a lot. Some friends swore by teething necklaces.

Other things to try are chunks of cucumber to chew on, a cold clean wet flannel to chew on often helps to. How about a frozen banana?

'some teeth are ok and others are a nightmare'
I had experienced the same with my baby. It happens.

And yes, for teething, ibruprofen is a good option.
