Reaction to flu jab in 6yr old

Ds2 has a heart condition, so had the flu jab on Saturday. it isn't the first time he has had it and he has never had a reaction before.
Yesterday he had a bit of a temp, so just gave calpol and all seemed fine.

I have just noticed that the area around the jab the whole upper arm really) is bright red and hot to touch . He has a slight temp and says his arm doesn't hurt.

Is this a normal reaction? and if so does anyone have any ideas how to treat?

Thank you

meant to add -

DH took him and apparently he pulled away when the first jab went in, so it had to be done again, as a result he has two 'holes' in his arm, not sure if this has led to more of a reaction this time

(Dh has not perfected the wrap legs and arms around squirmy child technique!)

I would get some advice, i don't think his arm should be hot to touch.

My dd is having hers done tomorrow ( she also has a heart condition) but apparantly hers will the the nasal one.

Hmm , it was the feeling hot bit that worried me. I just wondered if it was usual as, before this, neither dc has had any reaction to jabs other than a bit of a temp.

any one else with any experience? DH thinks I'm over reacting and a bit of calpol is all we need do.

No advice except if you know the name of the brand of flu jab you can google for the package insert (if the nurse didn't give you the medication information when she gave the jab) it may say if that is a known reaction to the jab
As a reaction you should also fill in a yellow card
