He never throws up so completely unsure what is ok and what isn't.
He had his vaccinations on thurs afternoon and had a temp yesterday but seemed ok this morning. He had calol twice yesterday at 2.5 ml each time.

He seemed find this morning, had a feed at 8am and one at 12 (ebf). We are back from a walk and he has been quite violently sick 4 times on the last half an hour. He is asleep in my arms now but had woken up once to be sick again. It mostly just looks like water. What do I do?

Just woken up and been sick again. He looks very pale. Do I offer him breast to keep his fluids up ? He won't take bottles so I don't know how else to get something into him.

He is asleep again now. Should I be worried or is this ok?

I realise it is most likely just something that he has picked up from all his fist and blanket sucking but would really appreciate some reassurance or advice.

He needs fluids and breast milk is the best thing for him. Just keep feeding as much as possible. Breast milk is absorbed really easily so even if it is not down for long he will get some of it.

Keep an eye on.his nappies, make sure they are wet and keep an eye out for other signs of dehydration.

boardingschoolbaby · 05/10/2013 14:12

Great. Thank you. I will try a little feed then.

On our way to hospital. He has gone to sleep and we can't wake him up properly.

Oh no. Hope he is ok. Always best to get little ones checked.

minmooch · 05/10/2013 19:04

I hope you have been seen and baby is ok

Sparklyboots · 05/10/2013 19:12

If it's not normal for him, I'd get it checked out. I only know my babies so can't be definitive, but that doesn't sound like usual posseting to me, it sounds like your baby is poorly. Plenty of people get sick and vomit and there's no major problem, but I would be getting him checked out if I were you. My babies are 2.8 yrs and 21 weeks.

Oh, goodness didn't read the thread properly, sorry, how are you all. Crossing fingers for you xxx

boardingschoolbaby · 05/10/2013 22:22

Thank you both. They have rehydrated him and he has taken a couple of small feeds from me. They think it is viral but going to keep him overnight to monitor to be on the safe side as he was a preemie so they are being cautious.

Oh good, that sounds much more positive. Hope you have an ok night and he is not sick anymore. Flowers

Sparklyboots · 05/10/2013 23:55

Glad he's being seen and cared for. How are you doing, you must've been through the wringer a bit? Hope he shakes it overnight.

DaffyDuck88 · 06/10/2013 00:16

If its any help, my 9month old has just been through the same thing. Horrible viral thing where she couldn't keep anything down. Doctors stressed plenty of fluids only - and those in little amounts but often. (and when they say little, they mean little). Few days later & thankfully dd is fighting fit & eating anything she gets her hands on. Relief for us to see her back to her old self.

FYI - both dh & I then contracted the same bug! Felt rotten for several days.

Hope all is well soon, horrible to see little ones so poorly.

Thank you. He is doing so much better; smiling and kicking about today. We have had one wet nappy. Two more and he can come home. A lot of panic over nothing really, but very scary to see how quickly they can go downhill.
