Constant low level illness in 11 year old DD

Ok so it's not constant but she seems to get a lot if ow level illnesses - by which I mean stomach aches without any other symptoms, headache, colds.

Her attendance was not great last year and I really want it to improve, not least because of the stress of covering sick days.

Any ideas to boost her immunity and improve her general health? Her diet is ok ( doesn't eat meat) - am wondering about tonics and supplements.

Sorry to hear your daughter keeps having problems. Not sure if any of us can really avoid colds altogether, but do suggest she washes her hands well at school and eats healthy meals. If she doesn't eat meat, obviously do make sure she has other forms of protein in her meal, fish, eggs, cheese, baked beans, pulses, nuts as well as her 5 a day.

Sometimes headaches can come on if you're dehydrated or hungry, so try to encourage her to have a morning and afternoon snack - great opportunity to get one of her 5 a day in here and keep drinking.

If she getting stomach pains anywhere in particular? If it's under the tummy button, has she started puberty. Some girls get tummy pains for a few months before they start.

Thanks for these useful comments - will try and get some floradix tomorrow. Lottie I wondered about puberty and the stomach pains - quite often she gets them almost at the end of the school day though so also wondered about hunger.
