Rash/spots but no other symptoms

In the last 36-48 hours DS has developed a rash/small spots on his back and face. At first I thought it must be chicken pox but the spots havne't developed. They are only just on the skin, more underneath ifyswim? He has no other symptoms, no itching and is absolutely fine in himself. If it hadn't been for so long I might have thought allergic rash. NHS symptom checker can't find anything but suggested seeing a pharmacist rather than gp.

Any ideas? I am uuming and ahhing about spending our morning in a gp surgery when I find they just tend to shrug their shoulders and have no more idea than me!

How old is your child? Has he just had some possible viral infection (cough cold) recently? Have you used a new soap on him or a new detergent?

Sorry, he is 2.6 years old. No new products. Just noticed now it has spread behind ears and on his torso.

With a rash, it's always worth a visit to the gp. It's probably something harmless, such as an allergic rash, but worth checking.

Rashes are really common for all kinds of minor skin reactions, and can happen in reaction to things that previous didn't bother child at all. I wouldn't bother GP if he's fine in himself & it's not worsening.

that said, it is spreading. So I'd get an opinion, start with the pharmacist.

i have sent pics to my friend who is a pharmacist and is currently staying with her parents who are gp's so hopefully will get an answer soon. I just need to know whether or not its something contagious as I could really do with going to work today (se) and need him at the cm (selfish but he's absolutely fine in himself!)

It's very likely mild allergic reaction, pain though, I'm sure!

Hand foot and mouth is going around, some of my families children have the same symptoms.
