Could this abdominal pain all be related to stress?

My 12 year old daughter has had a couple of episodes of terrible abdominal pain. The last time was in July and she was admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitus twice within a week, but both times it was found she didn't have it. She was eventually treated with anti biotics (by a private doctor we saw) for helicopbacter pylori and it cleared up within a couple of days. When the blood tests came back, they were negative for the bacteria so we are not sure if it was a coincidence or that the anti biotics killed something else.
The pain returned 2 weeks ago and she has been off school since then. The pain is in the upper stomach (which is also very painful to touch) but also goes into her back and lower belly. She gets very dizzy when she stands up and will literally hold onto anyone or anything when she walks to balance herself. The pain is constant but Walking is extremely painful, and laughing/ coughing. If we go out in the car, every tiny bump causes her even more pain. I have had her in bed with me for a couple of nights and every time she turns over she moans or cries out in pain. She doesn't wake every time, but does wake a couple of times a night with it.
The only other symptom is that she can hardly eat or drink (literally no more than 4or 5 mouthfulls) anything without the pain getting worse and her feeling full up. She has lost 1 1/2 stone in 3 weeks.
I am exploring the stress/ emotional side as she has had numerous blood tests and ultrasound scans which haven't revealed anything. She is waiting for an endoscopy and CT scan but these won't be until November.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you

Has she been tested for coeliac disease? I had episodes like this for years before I realised what it was. I would suggest genetic test first to see if she had the gene. My antibody test was always negative. Took 15 years to diagnose. I didn't have tummy problems to begin with but my pain was like really really bad trapped wind and would radiate into my back and eventually after several hours subside. Good Luck.

Yes, she was tested for coeliac in July but it was negative. The doctors also said that as she is 5ft 7 at 12 years old and at that time was a healthy nearly 10 stone, that it was unlikely.

If she's having an endoscopy make sure they take biopsies at least to rule it out. I wish I'd pushed for more tests years ago. I read an account where someone described these episodes that they had months apart and I realised that was what I had.
Oh and I was normal weight until I lost 10lbs in four days after being hospitalised and still no one suspected coeliac because my antibody test was neg.

One last thing. Has she had her ferritin (iron stores) tested? And if you wanted to rule it out you can have the genetic test done privately for about £100 at a clinic in Harley street. Can have it done via a consultant in NHS but you might have to ask for it. HTH

Thanks MissSmiley, I will ask them to test again when they do the other tests. Her pain seems too severe to be emotional but I know that these things can manifest themselves in funny ways. We also do not know what she has to be stressed about, she is doing very well at school and we have spoken to her teachers, friends and friends parents and they all say that she is happy. Obviously I have spoken to DD too and she is adamant that she has nothing to be stressed about. But I have to explore all avenues as the physical things are going to take some time to rule out! Thank you!
