My 14mo fell and hurt neck. Does she need to see a doc??

I was cooking dinner for my DC about an hour ago and I had my DD (14months) playing in the kitchen with me. She was on her knees and having a little nosey in our pull-out corner cupboard (which was partly pulled out for her) and her knee slipped on the floor. She fell forward and landed with her neck across the metal bar that goes around the edge of the pull-out shelf Shock

She cried a lot and she has a red mark across her neck (across the windpipe) where the impact was, which is still there. She soon stopped crying and was up and toddling about again quite quickly and seems fine now, but I keep wondering if she could actually have done herself some damage by hurting herself in such a delicate area? If she's, say, bruised her windpipe, does this need medical attention?? I don't know whether to pop her down to the docs to get a once over or whether I just assume that as she seems fine, she's fine??

Does anyone know or WWYD??

Straight to A&E or if your Doctors are still open, I imagine most switch over to out of hours at 6.30pm, ring for advice.

As she has made such a good recovery I can understand your angst. How about calling 111 and getting their advice. I hope she's ok Smile

Thank you both for the replies. Just thought I'd post and update. I did give 111 a call and spoke to someone. She asked loads of questions but was pretty satisfied that my DD hadn't done too much damage. I've got to keep a close eye on her for the next 48 hours and look out for any unsual behaviour and check that she's rousable every 6 hours during the night. But she still seems fine and is asleep in bed now. I think she'll be fine Smile

Thanks again for the quick responses.

Glad to hear she is ok. Fingers crossed for the next 48 hours but at least you know what to look out for.
