diarrhoea after rotavirus vaccine - how long should it last?

Hi, my ten week old has had diarrhoea off and on for two weeks now. Tests done during the first week came back clear, so no bug detected. She is well and happy in herself, and doesn't appear to be in pain. Was given the go ahead for immunizations last week. Could the rotavirus vaccine be responsible for the diarrheoa she's getting now? Has anyone else had this problem? How long did it last for - is it possible to still be causing problems a week later? Am trying to figure out the cause because it's getting really depressing to see it after nearly every feed! We do eat quite a lot of spicy foods. Could my baby have developed an intolerance to this that she didn't have before? Has anyone else found their babies developing intolerances at this age, when they were ok before? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You say you eat a lot of spicy food, are you bfing? If so, are you sure she has diahorrea? Could it just be normal poo for a bf baby?

Hi, thanks for responding. I am bfing. I'm sure it's diarrhoea, it's definitely not normal for her, although maybe over time baby poo can change? She's happy in herself, and well hydrated. I just feel that it's not quite right. Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this after the rotavirus vaccine, and how long it might go on for. Ive been told that bfed babies don't normally suffer ill effects from mum's diet, and I haven't changed the way I eat recently, so I don't have a real reason to believe it's my diet. To be sure, I've avoided spicy food for the last few days, and so far it's made no difference.

Perhaps you could talk it through with a BFC, have you got the helpline numbers? Bf poo does change though over time and nothing you've said sounds like a concern.

DD had the rotavirus vax with no change in her stools. She caught adenovirus about 3 months after the rotavirus vax which meant poo every 2 hours (including during the night) for 21 days. And, I use cloth nappies! The machine was on a lot Grin
