Can my baby use the Nizoral shampoo?

My 3-month-old baby has very thick cradle cap. So I took him to our GP, who gives us the Nizoral shampoo.

However, the Nizoral instruction leaflet never mentions whether babies cn use it.

Do you know if a baby can use this type of shampoo?

Thank you.

Good grief. I wouldn't use it on such a small baby. I didn't use any kind of shampoo or wash on my DD until she was much older and only then the super gentle stuff.

The cradle cap will go on it's own in time. If it bothers you the traditional way to remove it is to apply a non-allergenic cooking oil (like coconut oil) and it will soak in over a few days and slough off with gentle washing with a baby shampoo. You might have to repeat a few times over a couple of weeks.

Really bad cradle cap can be an indication of a milk intolerance - have you recently moved to formula? An eczema? Just a thought.

Use olive oil.

My DS has eczema and we use oilatum shampoo on his hair and comb out any dry bits.

We tried olive oil, didn't work - cradle cap is now clearing beautifully with Dentinox shampoo which you can buy in Boots/ similar.

We used to use olive oil and dentinox.
