Should I be concerned?

Think I'm unnecessarily concerned and would appreciate any/ all views please.

My son wheezes a lot, usually no distress and no pulling in of stomach, temp etc. Has in the past been admitted with these symptoms, needed oxygen, inhalers etc but currently fine and just wheezing.

He's very tired. He sleeps from 7 till 7 and will nap from 12 until 3pm. If he's doing something active he can go for about 40 mins then is exhausted and needs cuddles. The 40 mins is usually full on though.

He goes blue with in half an hour of being in a pool, even though the pool is 30 degrees. The blue remains for 30 mins plus after getting him out.

He is thinish for his height. Very tall and just turned 2, his weight is 3/4 centiles lower than his height.

That's it really, nothing to majorly concern me but its the tiredness thing, he's well in himself really throws himself into things and wants to get stuck in but just doesn't have the energy. I'm used to toddlers going for hours!

Been quite a recent thing, last three months, so put it down to the heat but its not that hot now. Thinking that's just how he is but don't know if all these things are linked to his breathing some how and I should get him checked. Know what they'll say though.. He's happy enough so fine.

Any previous experience very welcome if just to reassure me I'm right not to get it checked, or to give me the confidence to.

Thanks x

That all sounds quite similar to my son who is asthmatic. I would get him checked over

Asthma is definitely a possibility. Go see the dr

I'd be worried too tbh (sorry) and would et him checked

Thanks guys. Will go get him checked. He does have an inhaler, not been using it as, although he's wheezing, he's not struggling. Wheezing is very usual for him. They say he's a happy wheezer.

Think you might be right though and may be asthmatic. Need to see if they think using it when he's not struggling will help.

Thanks again for taking the time to read and reply, appreciated x

Inhalers are preventative op.
Not just for attacks.

My DS2 used to run out of energy v easily and could never manage the whole 45 mins of a football class he did without needing to sit out.

After yet another "viral induced wheeze" which had him in hospital on oxygen etc last March, he was given the brown preventer inhaler (clenil modulite).

Since last March his energy levels are amazingly improved and he plays a lot of sport with no fatigue issues (he is now 5 years old). He never needs the blue inhaler and has not had a wheeze in 18 months.
