Getting kids to eat vegetables

Kids simply refuse to eat most vegetables. Trying making interesting stuff but after a while it failed too. How do you get yours to eat vegetables without too much fuss?

your first sentence is wrong

but if your kids dont eat veg what about pureeing into pizza sauce?

Have you tried raw vegetables like cucumber? Or you can puree vegetables into pasta sauce. Will your children eat mashed potato? Then mash in carrot for orange mash and broccoli for green mash.

Try hiding some. People say not to go down that route because it's not teaching them to eat their vegetables, but I would rather they were getting their vitamins roughage etc.

So I make lots of things like spag Bol, chilli con carne, cottage pie and just chop up lots of vegetables to throw in those, which are then mainly disguised.

like the above post about hiding, but still continue to put veg and plate all the time.
you eat the veg in front of them.

i never expected them to eat them all or put pressure on them to eat them. I told them that veg are part of a meal and thats why they are on the plate.

no fuss no comment, and for goodness sake dont mention that 'oh kids dont like veg do they' type convos with other parents. kids arent deaf all the time, they pick this idea up and use it as a power control against you!!

I was wondering about pureeing veg, as the recent viewpoint on doing the same to fruit suggests it isn't as good for you as previously thought. Surely the same applies for the fibrous content in veg too?

Give them the veg they will eat - even if its raw carrot sticks every night - and try them with other stuff (hidden, raw, whatever) as well.

A lot of veg are an acquired taste - especially a lot of greens - don't stress about small kids not liking them.

Dd1 is weird and likes vegetables Hmm Salad though is a different story Grin

But if your kids eat some I don't see the issue. Just feed them those while keeping putting the others on plate when you eat with them.

If you have real issues with this and they don't eat any then a couple of tips:
Sweetcorn is always a hit here (I can't bear the stuff, but hey-ho)
Mine love shelling fresh peas (not many end up in the pan)
They love growing and picking, we have a box.
