Hand tremor and visual disturbance

A couple of weeks ago I noticed Dd aged 10 had a tremor in her left hand - she was reaching out to get something and was unaware herself - till I pointed it out. I thought she was maybe dehydrated and encouraged her to drink. On Friday she noticed her hand trembling again and has also reported that her peripheral vision left eye is sometimes fuzzy. I didn't really put the two syptoms together untill yesterday and of course it's the weekend. I'll be off to the GP first thing tomorow but wondered if any one else's child had experienced this ?

I'm really worried :(

Could she have blood sugar issues ?
That can cause such symptoms.

I hope it's something minor foodie and thank you for replying. I am obviously imagining the worse and that its a brain tumour . I know nobody can reassure me, I have to wait for a doctor to take a look at her.

She had eaten but may not have drunk enough it has been so hot. This has been happening for the last two weeks as have an awfull lot of nose bleeds; which to be fair she is prone to get. I will update tomorrow.

I had blurry vision and trembling and numbness and I was b12 deficient. It appeared out of the blue

Hope you get reassurance. To be honest I thought first symptoms of brain tumor was headaches?
Hope it's something simple . Nothing worse than worrying about your child x

Just back from the GP who doesn't think it's neurological but wants to see her next week if her eye is still having problems and will refer to an eye surgeon.

You could also go and get her checked at an optician. They can have a good look at the back of her eyes and make sure there is no obvious problems with her eyes.

Eye tests are free for children in the UK and you can generally find an optician that can see you on the day rather than waiting till next week.

Keep us posted....

How is your DD getting on bumbez?

Bumbez · 04/08/2013 13:59

She's ok thank-you cheeky, no signs of the hand tremor so maybe just tired or dehydrated and she hasn't reported her vision changing since we saw the GP.

It's a good point foodie to see an optician and I will get on to that. Dh needed glasses from aged 10!
