Hi all.

I've just had a phone call about some pictures of DD on FB and her eyes. I've added the pictures to this profile (namechanged) and would appreciate some opinions/reassurance/advice r.e Retinoblastoma! Thank you.

FTR DD has a squint also.

I once took DS to the optician in a panic because of a white bounce. They checked him over completely, gave him a full bill of health and told me that if the eyes are looking in slightly different directions, you can get this effect.

They also said that it's still a good idea to get it checked out by an optometrist: if you book in advance it's free on the NHS.

Thank you, I've booked DD in at our local opticians for Saturday and taking her to the GP tomorrow.

definitely you need to get her checked; but could just be coincidence. if she has a squint is she under paediatric opthamologist at hospital anyway? ask for referral .

Could be the squint , but best to check. This must be alarming but well done your friend for caring enough to contact you about it .

Its most likely the squint - as moonbells said, its because the eye is looking in a differnet direction. They won't mind checkign for your peace of mind though

Don't panic, i work as an eye specialist, I want to say it will def be the squint, but of course I can't!

A quick optician or GP check will hopefully reassure you.

Can also just be an artefact of photos.

Took DD to the GP and showed him the pictures. He's referred her to an eye clinic. I'm going to take her to the Optician Saturday too for an extra look.

My dd1 (age 12yo) had two photos in quick succession like this. I dragged her protesting took her to the GP to be checked out and she was fine, but said we were right to check.

He did say that if it was anything sinister it would probably be in pretty much every photo with a flash, whereas she had lots with red eye in both eyes.

Thanks DeWe, the bottom pic is from a few months ago. 99% of pictures I take of dd have no flash because my phone won't flash if my battery is low stupid phone so its in 4 pictures of about 8 with flash in the last few months.
