6 yo @ end of year 2 with nausea attacks - anxiety tummy aches ?

My DS is leaving year 2 to go to the juniors and has been suffering for weeks now - worse in mornings, at meal times and bed time - with no vomiting, just tummy pain and nausea. I am an emetophobe and he has seen me get anxious and I am aware that he may be anxious due to either moving to the junior school and/or because of my anxiety about the situation. We have seen ther doctor to rule out anything overtly physical, and I am am my wits end with it. I hate seeing him like this, it is so out of character, but not sure what to do. I try to keep calm as best as I can and be matter of fact but it does not seem to be working. Anyone else had this and can advise ? Thanks.

My dd 8yr old suffers with anxiety also. The best thing you can do is be as positive as possible. And distraction works also.
Have you heard of cranial sacral therapy? I take my daughter every half term and it keeps her calm and more relaxed. May need a few sessions to start off with. But you could both have it? I highly recommend it.

Hi, my on also has anxiety tummy aches. Sad He can't name what he is nervous about but I think it is the new class next year. We now name his worry for him when he complains of a tummy ache...'Oh, that is probably because you are worried about xyz.' It is difficult though and not sure what is best.

I have been taking him casually to his new classroom, 'bumping into' his new teachers, taking bits into the new classroom, etc to ease the transition.

I also got a Dawn Huebner book ,' What to do when you worry too much', which has helped a little.
