She's happy, contented, developing. She has 4/5 bf a day, and three meals. She always eats well.

She's been the same weight now for one month. Not sure what to do about it.

I wouldn't worry if she's well and active. They grow in spurts IME. A sick child is sick, is the rule I live by. If she doesn't act sick, odds are she's perfectly well.

She's probably starting to crawl & move more now too...

Do you want to share her current weight and length? If she is within the normal range for her age I wouldn't worry at all. Most likely she used the calories for increasing her length last month and will pick up some weight next month. Plus the more mobile they become, the less weight they put on. DD1 didn't put on any weight between 8 and 10 months but was exactly on the 50th percentile at the age of one so she was absolutely fine :)

Dd was like this at 8 mo. bf babies put on different weight at different times & things like crawling/standing eye can all affect it. If she is developing normally, looks healthy then I wouldn't worry. Was she prem at all? That can also affect it

Totally agree that it is probably nothing to worry about. If you are getting the right nappy count, her centiles are roughly in proportion and she is bright and active at times she will be ok.

Have a read of how might I increase my baby's weight gain. It might help to put your mind at rest Smile

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 07/07/2013 21:07

She's right on the 50th percentile. When she was born she was on the 99th! She's not quite doubled her birthweight yet.

Lots of nappies etc.

Thanks all, my mind is more at rest now. I'll monitor her over the next month too.

I bet she's started crawling or cruising, so expending more energy. as you said, she's happy and healthy. no need to keep weighing her unless you are concerned about weight lossSmile

The hv locally won't weigh children between 6 months and a year more than 2 monthly unless there is already a concern because they say that we can get overly worried about small changes and need to look at a bigger picture at this age.
I disagree with them on other things (looked shocked when I was doing blw!) but I think this is great advice.
