Help, worried about ds! Freaking out a bit...

Started this thread last week.

Ds started feeling better on tuesday and got his appetite. He looks thinner and paler but i assumed that was due to 5 days of illness. Last night and tonight when he falls asleep (which is quite quickly - unusual for him) his skin is cold and clammy all over. I checked his heartrate and it feels irregular but i might not be feeling it right.

My anxiety is not good with stuff like this. Gp was quite dismissive on monday re the fevers and sickness recently. Dont know what to do but it feels like something is wrong.

if you feel he's not right, go back to the gp. don't let them fob you off. it's probably nothing, just one of the wierd bugs going round.

Should i ask for blood tests?

I have read your other thread and you say this started at the beginning of May? That is a long time to be unwell, on and off, so I think you are completely within your rights to go back to the gp. If you feel he needs a blood test, then you should be able to request one.

You know your DS better than anyone else, and if you feel there is something wrong, you deserve to have your concerns addressed and investigated, not dismissed. I too have encountered GPs with this unfortunate attitude and it makes what is an already worrying time so much worse and more upsetting. Is it possible to see a different GP?

I too have taken DDs pulse when she was younger as part of a symptom-checker and convinced myself it was irregular. I think looking back, that I wasn't doing it correctly, so that could be the case with you.

Good luck, hope that helps a little.

I think the gp should at least listen to the heart (unlike my old gp who would only ask questions without even looking at dc. grrrrrrr.).
mention blood test.
have you thought about asthma? sometimes dc do not wheeze, some just cough or breathe fast/shallow.
write down the history (or print out the thead) so that you don't forget anything.
some viruses take long to recover fully from, so it might be that. but you are worried and your concern is very valid.
good luck.
