DS3 went down with it today, went to nursery with nothing, back with spots, fever and a smile (so far). It's been a while since my others had it so I searched mumsnets best authorities for advice! I definitely won't be going myself to the chemist risking the wrath of all ( understandably) and hubby has volunteered to bring supplies home.

My dilemma is that I have no choice but to do the school run with a contagious child - is it acceptable to literally dash kids in and thru door at speed with DS3 in pushchair or via office and away from most parents?? What would u do???

I had this situation too; first dd2, then dd1 and then dd3 so was inevitable that there was going to be a situation where we had to be out and about. I tried to do quick drop offs with those that I thought were contagious. I just tried to do it at speed and with as little contact as possible. It was however rife within dd1 and dd2's classes so my efforts probably made little difference in the grand scheme of things and it seemed that most parents weren't averse to their dcs catching it - it's more pregnant and ill people that I was worried about. GOod luck!

Pushchair with raoincover and yes via office/avoiding other parents/children. Or go in early/late to avoid.

No friends you can ask?

Thanks lion. Seriously thinking about incurring wrath of God (scary headmistress) by using staff car park to be v quick!

Would buggy + raincover help too?

Could you ask the school if you could use the staff car park to drop off as you are worried about infecting others? It seems to me like a very reasonable and sensible request. If you have permission, then you can eliminate that from your worries. Good luck.
